Welcome to the Trearddur Bay Sailing Club.
The 2011
season provided a winning cocktail of some fantastic racing
in a variety of conditions combined with some great social
events. It is the wholehearted participation of so many of
the members that makes a summer in Trearddur so memorable
and for this, on behalf of all the committee, thank you.
However, no sooner are the boats put away
than thoughts turn to the forthcoming season. The November
committee meeting is shortly upon us and with that, planning
for 2012 begins in earnest.
Olympic year will be very special for the whole country and
we need to think how we celebrate it in Trearddur Bay.
Should we have some special races, or can we incorporate
some of the big events into drinks whilst viewing on a
screen at the boatyard? If you have any thoughts on how we
can best include the London Olympics into our season, please
get in touch with any of the flag officers.
The feedback on the events at the boatyard
has been very positive and we will be looking to consolidate
the changes we have made next season rather than planning
any major changes for the coming season. As always, any
suggestions for how we can improve the events are very
welcome. Now we have our very own outdoor stage, we are
expecting great things on the entertainment front from the
different classes; get planning now!
One of the committee's priorities over the winter is to
review the club's communication strategy with our members.
How can we get information to members in a more convenient
format making better use of the website, social media and
webcams whilst retaining the traditional club books which
are so much part of our history? If any members have any
thoughts on this, please get in touch with Deborah
Morrissey.
We are already looking forward to the biennial ball in 2012.
Planning is well under way and Tors Bird and her committee
have been working hard and coming up with lots of great
ideas to make sure this will be a night to be remembered.
It is sure to be popular; make sure you book your tickets
early to avoid disappointment.
Winter well and I look forward to seeing many of you over
the winter months in Trearddur Bay.
